known worldwide as John le Carré
, died this Saturday at the age of 89.
He was noted for his espionage and mystery novels set in the Cold War.

His most remembered novel is
"The spy who emerged from the cold."
The news was confirmed by Le Carré's family, who said he died of pneumonia at the Royal Cornwall Hospital on Saturday night.
"We all deeply regret his passing," they wrote in a statement.
The Curtis Brown group, an art agency based in London linked to the writer's work, also confirmed the news and specified that Le Carré did not die from a disease linked to the coronavirus.
"Our thoughts are with
his four children, their families and his dear wife, Jane,"
