"I am a professional. If Netanyahu's defense attorneys want to come and talk, as in any other case, my door is open. For me, this case will be conducted from beginning to end, there is a clear interest in it," the spokesman said at a Channel 7 meeting on Judaism, morality and leadership. "My door is open for a plea deal."

Mandelblit went on to say of Netanyahu, saying he "hurts the decision to indict the prime minister, a leader who has many rights and is also admired by many publics. When I said I made the decision with a heavy heart but wholeheartedly, I meant it - but no one above "If there is one, it's the beginning of the end for democracy."

The attorney general's remarks come against the background of various clashes that have taken place between him and Netanyahu recently.
