The Emergency Department in the Iranian province of Jahar Mahal and Bakhtiari announced that firefighting teams put out a fire that broke out following an oil spill caused by an explosion in a pipeline in the province in southwestern Iran.
"The accident, which caused little damage to the environment, did not result in any loss of life," said Head of the Department, Khosrow Kayani, pointing out that the firefighting teams managed to contain the oil spill and start the restoration work.
Kayani explained that the explosion occurred in the Maroun pipeline that pumps crude oil to Isfahan refinery in Ardal, the second largest refinery in the country.
