The starred chef Guy Savoye had a heavy hand during the draw for the group stage of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. He shot New Zealand, which will therefore face the XV of France in the first phase (as in 2011).
In Pool A, the Blues will also face Italy, the African qualifier (Namibia, or even Kenya), and the qualifier from the Americas zone, or most likely the United States.
In the quarterfinals, France crosses with Pool B. For a potential poster against South Africa, Ireland, or even Scotland.
