Robbery occurred in To Kwa Wan.
At 11pm on Monday (14th), a female resident of Block C, Yick Fung Building, 237 To Kwa Wan Road, returned to her own floor and was reportedly robbed of her handbag by a thief while she stepped out of the lift. Entanglement occurred, but the culprit broke free. In the chaos, the female victim was injured at the corner of her eye and shouted for help.
After the thief succeeded, he fled the building. An enthusiastic male resident heard the call for help and immediately assisted in the chase. He finally reached the road across from the building. Police officers happened to be present to deal with another robbery. The thief was on the spot. The stolen goods were obtained, uniformed and arrested, and the female victim's handbag was fortunately protected.
The police classified the case as a "robbery" and the victim and the culprit had to be sent to hospital.
