TRIBUNE - An issue as important as France's climate policy cannot be dictated by 150 citizens drawn by lot, argues the chemist, professor at the Collège de France who strongly criticizes the “ecocide offense” announced by the government.

Marc Fontecave holds the chair of chemistry of biological processes and a member of the Academy of Sciences.

He published

, Captain Haddock cannot get rid of a sticking plaster, which despite his best efforts, remains stuck on his nose, his right hand and then his left hand.

With the 150 proposals of the Citizen's Convention for the Climate (CCC), without much interest and without originality, the government has a lot of plasters that it does not know how to get rid of.

How could we have imagined that French climate policy (which encompasses this complex issue of energy transition) could be drawn up in such an undemocratic manner (this is the opinion of 150 citizens drawn by lot) and so unprofessional (no expertise was required) and to demagogically promise to apply these “unfiltered” proposals?
