Suddenly the big quarrel was a thing of the past: Angela Merkel and the country leaders quickly reached an agreement at the Corona summit.

But there are still deviations - an overview.

  • On Sunday, Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Prime Ministers agreed on new corona rules.

  • There was no big argument at the Corona summit - the federal and state governments showed an unusual unity.

  • But that does not mean that the same rules now apply everywhere in Germany - you can find an overview of the regional special routes here.

Berlin / Munich

- Loud dispute, special ways, vetoes and protocol notes - the

country squabble

about

hard-negotiated summit resolutions

has so far persistently followed Germany through the

Corona crisis

.

On Sunday it was suddenly different, probably due to the strong increase in the number of cases.

After an hour, the emergency summit ended just before Christmas.

Heard nothing of quarrel.

Nevertheless: The corona rules in the federal states are

not

completely the same, even in the

Christmas lockdown

.

This is also due to the fact that the

procedure in schools is

not regulated in a binding manner.

The most important deviations from the summit course are

tightening of the measures

.

An overview of the most important

measures across the country

- and

deviations in the regions

.

Corona rules until January 10th: These rules generally apply throughout Germany

  • Contact restrictions and Christmas rules:

In principle, there is still an upper limit of

    five people from two households

    for private meetings

, whereby children up to 14 years are not counted.

    For the

Christmas days from December 24th to 26th,

meetings with four people beyond their own household should be possible.

However, this should be limited to the

    closest family

circle: spouses, civil partners and partners in a cohabiting relationship as well as straight relatives, siblings, siblings and their respective household members.

In addition, there is an appeal to keep contacts to a minimum in the week before.

  • New Year's Eve and New Year:

On both days there is a nationwide

    ban on gathering and gathering

    .

The municipalities should determine where the lighting of fireworks is prohibited.

De facto, however, the firecrackers should generally be prevented by banning the

sale of pyrotechnics before New Year's Eve

    .

Fireworks are strongly discouraged when this is available.

  • Shops and Services:

    In general, the

retail trade will be closed from Wednesday (December 16) to January 10

    .

Exceptions apply to grocery stores, pick-up and delivery services, including restaurants, pharmacies, drug stores, opticians, gas stations, car repair shops, banks, post offices, dry cleaners and Christmas tree dealers.

The sale of products other than food in markets can be restricted.

Hairdressers, cosmetic studios and similar businesses will

remain closed unless they carry out medically necessary treatments.

    A

strict ban on alcohol in public areas

    applies to the entire lockdown

    .

  • School and work:

From Wednesday until January 10th, children should be “cared for at home whenever possible”.

    The

    schools are closed

    or

    suspended attendance requirement

, which is intended to provide emergency care, distance learning and opportunities for paid leave of their parents.

The regulations should also apply to kindergartens.

    Employers are called upon

    closing

    declare or

    home office

to enable so that people can stay at home nationwide principle.

  • Churches and worship services:

    Meetings in places of

    worship

should only be allowed if the

minimum distance of one and a half meters is

    observed

    .

    There is also a

    mask requirement

    on the site,

    singing is prohibited

    .

If high visitor numbers are expected, the municipalities have to introduce a registration system.

There are still open questions here: Further details should be discussed with the religious communities.

  • Nursing homes and care services:

“Special protective measures” should be taken.

    The federal government should provide

    medical protective masks

    and

    cover

    the

    costs for rapid

    tests.

The staff in retirement and care facilities should be tested several times a week.

Corresponding tests should also be carried out with mobile care services if possible.

In regions with a high number of cases, visitors to the home should have to present current negative corona tests.

The situation in nursing is sometimes precarious in the Corona crisis, as

    Merkur.de

    * reported

    , among other things

    .

  • Hotspots:

    Additional restrictions should apply

    in all hotspots with an

incidence of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants

per week, currently in most of Germany, and

    additional initial

    restrictions should be

    checked

at the latest from an incidence

    value

    of 200

    .

  • Travel

    : There is an appeal

    to refrain

    from all

    non-essential travel by

    January 10th,

    but these are not prohibited.

Quarantine obligations when returning from foreign risk areas are reaffirmed.

  • Economy and companies: Companies

affected by the lockdown, self-employed persons and freelancers should continue to receive financial support from the federal government.

The so-called bridging aid III, which provides subsidies for fixed costs, is to be improved.

A higher monthly grant of up to half a million euros is planned.

Loss of value of goods and other assets should be absorbed with the possibility of unbureaucratic and faster partial depreciation.

Germany in corona lockdown: special rules in Baden-Württemberg

The green-black governed state largely adopts the adopted summit rules - but remains in parts with its stricter course.

The

nationwide exit

restrictions

already enacted on Friday

continue to apply, said

Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann

(Greens)

.

At the schools there should

only be distance learning for graduating

classes, for all other classes the Christmas holidays will be moved forward.

Until December 22nd, emergency care is planned for students in grades 1 to 7, whose parents are dependent on it.

Emergency care is also offered for daycare children on regular opening days.

Corona lockdown: special rules in Bavaria

In the Free State the country a valid

curfew 21:00 to 5:00

.

Leaving the apartment is then only permitted in

absolutely exceptional cases

, such as on the way to work.

Previously, this was only the rule in hotspots with a 7-day incidence above 200.

Further new strategies are to be developed for hotspots.

Schools and daycare centers are generally closed from Wednesday.

Graduates should be able to carry out their examinations as specified;

here are

exceptions

 possible.

Corona lockdown in Germany: special rules in Berlin

Berlin

takes a stricter path over the Christmas holidays: In spite of the summit resolution on Sunday, the already announced stricter rule applies in the capital, emphasized

Mayor Michael Müller (SPD)

.

A

maximum of five people from two households are allowed to

meet

here during the festival

.

The Berlin coalition only wants to turn a blind eye to “particularly large families”: the somewhat softer all-German rule applies to them.

Corona lockdown: special rules in North Rhine-Westphalia

In

North Rhine-Westphalia

 , according to

Prime Minister Armin Laschet

(CDU),

schools

should not be closed from Wednesday.

The decision announced on Friday by North Rhine-Westphalia to

lift

the

compulsory attendance

remains

.

However, there is a care guarantee for schools and daycare centers - parents who have to leave their children in care can continue to do so.

In the schools, however, this is not a lesson as usual.

Corona lockdown: special rules in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

At the

schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

, face-to-face teaching is still possible in grades up to 6th grade in the tightened corona lockdown.

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig

(SPD) said on Sunday in Schwerin that she recommends leaving children at home wherever possible.

The compulsory attendance could also be suspended after the Christmas holidays, and instead they could learn from home.

Daycare centers should therefore also remain open in principle.

Here, too, Schwesig spoke out in favor of parents leaving their children at home if possible.

From Monday onwards, more

stringent measures for pupils from the 7th grade are

already

planned

in large parts of the state

.

These should then be communicated via the Internet.

These measures are initially planned until January 10th.

Corona lockdown until 2021: special rules in Rhineland-Palatinate

Like Berlin and Saxony-Anhalt (see below),

Rhineland-Palatinate

also wants to go

beyond the

federal rules for Christmas

.

Here too, only five people from a maximum of two households should be able to meet - as everywhere plus children and young people under 14 years of age.

Corona lockdown in Germany: special rules in Saxony

In

view of the dramatic number of corona cases,

Saxony

has already sent its population into hard lockdown earlier.

The country sticks to its line.

"From Monday we will have a clear regulation that will be implemented and monitored with all consistency," said

Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer

(CDU) to

Spiegel

before the summit

.

The rules were already largely the same as the federal rules that have now been adopted.

However, Saxony also wants to introduce additions such as shop closings at hairdressers and the ban on the sale of pyrotechnics from Wednesday.

In the state severely affected by Corona,

curfews between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. at hotspots

also apply

.

At first, another

special rule

remained unique in Germany

: Citizens may move

a maximum of 15 kilometers away from their place of residence

for shopping and sporting activities

.

Corona lockdown in Germany: special rules in Saxony-Anhalt

The crisis-ridden Kenya coalition in Magdeburg wants to take

a stricter course

at

Christmas

: Relaxation is "not responsible," said

Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff

(CDU) on Sunday.

Meetings of only five people from two households will be allowed.

Unlike Bavaria, for example, the state is currently not thinking of general curfews.

Christmas lockdown in Germany: special rules in Schleswig-Holstein

Germany's northernmost state adheres almost 1: 1 to the

requirements of the Corona summit

- even though country father

Daniel Günther

(CDU) appealed to citizens on Sunday to “stay at home immediately” - “if it somehow works”.

The

Christmas

rules still correspond to the general ones.

However, on Monday (December 14th) parents should no longer send their children to daycare.

From Wednesday there will only be emergency care for children of parents who work in the “critical infrastructure”.

Germany in corona lockdown: special rules in Thuringia

Left Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow took

a more liberal line in the corona pandemic for a

long time

- also in view of the low number of cases in

Thuringia

.

That is changing now.

The country has a

night exit

restriction from Wednesday

.

The state government decided on Sunday to leave the apartment between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. only for compelling reasons, such as working.

The state chancellery announced that the reason for the special regulation was the persistently high number of infections.

The Hildburghausen district had meanwhile mutated into Germany's number one hotspot.
