The Cultural Center Gallery in Tartous today hosted the activities of the Second Mujib Dawood Forum for Plastic Art, which is held by the Culture Directorate within the days of Syrian plastic art, which is held under the title “Creativity continues” with the participation of a group of plastic artists in the governorate.

The activities of the first day included the screening of a documentary film entitled Colors that dealt with the biography of the late artist Daoud by his wife Fatima Ahmed, who spoke about the most important stages of his life, in addition to the opening of a plastic exhibition that included paintings of various topics, trends, schools and technologies in honor of the late artist.

Tartous Culture Director Kamal Badran said in a statement to SANA that the plastic art forums contribute to strengthening the positive values ​​set among individuals and making the participating artists feel self-esteem through the works they produce.

In turn, Rose Merhej, Director of the Mujib Dawood Center, said in a similar statement that the importance of the forum in its second year lies in the participation of great names who have their distinct artistic imprint in the world of formation, referring to the artistic workshops that will be held in the open air, contributing to creating an interactive situation between the artist and the recipient, which leads to Increase the number of viewership of these works

The artist, Souad Mohamed, head of the Plastic Artists Union branch, who participated in a number of paintings, considered that the importance of art is crystallized in society by holding exhibitions and forums to raise the artistic taste of the recipient.

The participation of the artist Ahmed Khalil came with one acrylic painting, in which he showed the resurrection of Syria again despite all the pain he had experienced, pointing out that his participation in the forum meant a lot to him because the late Daoud was his teacher for four years.

Artist Hassan Mohamed, who participated in five sculptures, three of which were wooden and a work of sandstone and another in marble, embodied in one sculpture “Eagle” and in the other “Owl bird” to show the symbolism of each of them, considering his participation for the first time in the forum as an opportunity to get acquainted with the experiences of the participating artists directly.

Whereas, the artist Ruwaida Abdel Hamid found that her participation in the live artwork workshop by drawing paintings directly is an artistic message and a new idea that contributes to increasing interaction as direct drawing is considered food for the soul.

The activities of the first day included the launch of a mural painting workshop for a number of professors and students at the Mujib Dawood Center in the Al-Shanab and Al-Hiknar Schools in the city of Tartous in addition to a group exhibition for both artists Mays Mustafa and Rola Asaad with a handicraft workshop for children under the supervision of Razan Hassan at the Arab Cultural Center in Baniyas. .
