A rock pear and a red maple have enriched the lake complex in Riederau since Friday.

These are two more reasons for the people of Riederau and their guests to look forward to spring.

Riederau - With the new planting, the expansion of the lake facility in Riederau is complete.

The two trees were donated by the Beautification Association Riederau, and thus, as chairman Stephan Widler emphasized, by all members who reliably paid their contribution, and by donors.

The association invested almost 1400 euros, for which the Dießen tree nursery in Wörlein selected the most beautiful and strongest trees and also granted a decent price reduction.

The Beautification Association added 900 euros for three new benches, and around 300 flower bulbs are waiting in the ground for spring.

Newcomers are 15 years old

The two newcomers to the lake complex are 15 years old.

The trees are already a good five meters high.

“In spring, the rock pear gets small black fruits that are very popular with birds,” explained tree expert Armin Wörlein during the planting on Friday.

The maple tree feeds bees and other insects already early in spring thanks to its flowering and gives pleasure in autumn with its beautiful coloring.

The chestnut, which is the third in the group on the meadow by the lake, was donated and planted by the Wörlein tree nursery 25 years ago.

With the current planting, one had to meet the requirement not to obstruct the view from the Dietrich villa west of the park down to the lake, explained Widler.

That is why the trees were used in the lateral area.

The area originally belonged to the villa's garden

Originally, the new area of the lake complex, which made it possible to expand the park from around 1,100 to almost 2,000 square meters, was part of the villa's garden.

The market town of Dießen acquired the area a few years ago on the basis of a right of first refusal.

“We didn't have to call in any external companies for the expansion of the Riederauer Seeanlage, which began in spring 2020.

All of this was done by my employees, ”said Mayor Sandra Perzul happily.

The redesign was carried out independently by the building yard of the municipality according to the planning by construction engineer Gustav Arnold.

A huge hedge was removed and the ground leveled.

Paths were laid out, lawns sown and benches renovated.

Even a boules alley was laid out along the new hedge, which was planted three years ago on the current property line to the Dietrich Villa.

Thanks to the park extension, according to Perzul, Riederau has become a bit greener.

“Everyone benefits from this, the people of Riederau, the people of Dießen and the vacationers.

We thank the Beautification Association for their valuable donation. "

The association is already working on the next project.

Widler is preparing a digital tour through Riederau.

The virtual tour begins at the Dampfersteg and leads to houses, gardens and monuments in the Riederau park landscape.

The last stop is the historic train station of the artist's place.
