The Ukrainian authorities welcomed the announcement on Friday by the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Fatou Bensouda, of the conclusion of the preliminary examination on the situation in Ukraine.

"It is reasonable to believe at this stage that a wide range of conduct constituting war crimes and crimes against humanity falling within the jurisdiction of the Court has been committed in the context of the situation in Ukraine

", the prosecutor said in a statement.
