Attila apparently has nerves of steel.
Allianz Arena, 1860 ultras and stink bombs - the police horse was often used at soccer games in Munich.
Until now.
Munich - How cool
Attila
(19) is can be seen at the photo session on Monday: The flash of flashlights from the photographers in his stables at
the Munich police rider in Riem
leaves the
Bavarian warmblood
completely cold.
Without flinching, the animal stays still, although it must have suspected that a new chapter in life is beginning: Because the 19-year-old police horse is retiring after 15 years of service and is of course the star in the stable when he leaves.
Attila was allowed to spend his old age at the Gut Aiderbichl animal sanctuary in Iffeldorf (Weilheim-Schongau district).
"That is a big loss," says Michael Held (35).
The police chief has been with the cavalry squadron for six years and has ridden Attila very often since his training.
“He was always very reliable and nothing to upset him,” says Held.
The 35-year-old remembers a mission with the
police horse at the Allianz Arena
, during which the
football fans made a lot of noise
.
But Attila did not let that disturb her.
"He was always very reliable and nothing to upset him"
Sebastian Feist (43) is head of the Reiterstaffel and describes Attila as a "
veteran
".
“He still lived through the time of the 1860 ultras and knows how stink bombs smell,” says Feist.
In its 15 years of service, the Bavarian Warmblood was often used at
soccer games in Munich
.
The
police
horse was
also there when moving, for example when moving in to the
Oktoberfest
or
when relocating
customs
.
Occasionally the Munich veteran was even loaned out.
Among other things, it was there at the
Gäubodenfest in Straubing
.
As a training horse, Attila's job was to show others
how
calm he was in
stressful situations
.
He was out and about with beginners on two as well as on four legs.
Attila will now see an old friend again
at
Gut Aiderbichl
.
The
police horse Freddy
is already in Iffeldorf, it came a year ago.
"The two still know each other," says Florian Müller (41) from Gut Aiderbichl.
A total of
eight horses of the Munich police
are already
at the various sanctuaries of Gut Aiderbichl and after the
strenuous years of service
they can pamper
themselves
there and - if
Corona
allows
it
again - be admired by visitors.
At the beginning of the year, Munich sent the largest police horse (1.92 meters high at the withers) into retirement.
“I wish Attila that he will grow old healthy at Gut Aiderbichl,” says Michael Held.
Now another of the 48 horses of the Munich police has to give the trainer - they all have learned enough from the veteran Attila.
