Although destiny plays tricks hard to find dreams

The alumni of Zhu Zesheng, a graduate of Leshantang Liangqianju College who suffers from congenital diseases, are introverted and reticent, but when it comes to sports, they instantly become lively.

He smiled and shared his physical education class in elementary school: "When I was in elementary school, although I was teased by my classmates and laughed that I was different from them and I was slower than them in doing any exercise, but I did not give up on it because of this. "Zesheng was born with cerebellar atrophy, which caused him to have difficulty swallowing, slurred speech, tremors from time to time, and lack of coordination.

He sometimes feels strenuous even to walk, let alone enjoy the fun of sports like ordinary pupils.

But Zesheng did not give up because of this, and continued to try to do different types of sports.

Finally, the runway became his stage.

Zesheng believes that Huangtian will live up to his will, as long as he works hard, he will be successful!

After continuous hard practice, he finally won the first medal in his life in the sixth grade ground sports meeting.

Although it is only a bronze medal, it has proved that his efforts were not in vain, and it has stimulated his motivation to practice.

Caring for the campus

Although it has been nearly two years since he graduated from middle school, he would like to thank the teachers and social workers of his alma mater for their warm support.

"The teachers are very caring and patient. They understand that I have special learning needs. They provide me with homework guidance and special examination arrangements." In the first grade of middle school, Zesheng recognized social work Lai.

Social worker Lai saw his talent in track and field, so he took the initiative to contact his parents, hoping that they could support his son to develop his personal potential, and encourage Zesheng to participate in the external track and field association and receive formal training.

In addition, the teacher also encourages him to actively participate in extracurricular activities and competitions in order to expand his horizons, exercise his will, and enhance his self-confidence.

The school also provides additional resources and hires track and field coaches to teach him to help him get involved in track and field sports, through continuous practice and improvement, to find success on the track.

Zesheng won the bronze medal in the men's 800 meters open group in Form 3, and won the silver medal in the men's 1,500 meters in the Central and Western District Track and Field Age Division in Form 5; and participated in the "Street Horse" 5km race to win Long-distance running experience.

Break through and make your dream come true

"My dream is to become a professional athlete and then represent Hong Kong." Although Zesheng has a clear ambition, it is never easy to practice, so he is eager to get the approval of his parents.

Speaking of unforgettable memories, he had to mention that he successfully completed the Hong Kong Standard Chartered Marathon 10km race with the principal, teachers and classmates in the sixth form.

With tears in his eyes, he said, "After the race, the principal said to my parents: "Your son runs so fast! Don't bury his talent!" After hearing this, my parents finally affirmed my contribution and supported me in pursuing myself. dream."

Many athletes once abandoned their dreams due to factors such as studies and family, but Zesheng was very determined to pursue his dream-to become an athlete representing Hong Kong.

The life of student athletes not only has to practice seven days a week, but also sometimes has to return to the role of student and fulfill the responsibility of learning.

Fortunately, based on his grades and personal interests, the head teacher and social worker provide suggestions on his study and choice of subjects from time to time to make his goals clearer and clearer.

After that, he joined the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee and Sports Association for the Disabled and received systematic training.

After graduating from high school, Zesheng took a one-year sports coaching course at Baptist University, and continued to take care of his studies while receiving training.

Of course, the process is never easy, but he will still work hard to receive training with a firm and positive attitude to achieve the goal of becoming an outstanding athlete.

In recent years, he has been fortunate to be selected as a member of the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee and Sports Association for the Disabled. He has traveled to different parts of the world to participate in different events: such as the 2018 "World Paralympic Athletics Grand Prix-Berlin" and 2019 "Tianjin National Games" etc.

In the face of different events, he strives to refresh his personal speed every time, and strives to cultivate perseverance and a positive attitude to shine in the "stage" of the track field.
