In an interview with AFP, Yuriko Koike warned that the fate of the Tokyo Games, initially scheduled for the summer of 2020, would have an impact on future Olympic events, including the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing and the Games. summer of 2024 in Paris.
She acknowledged that a majority of the Japanese public still oppose hosting the Games in 2021, but said she believes these concerns can be overcome.
