The BRK district association Starnberg takes over the operation of the corona vaccination center of the district.

The district office announced this - and thus drew a line under the award procedure.

The first applicant had withdrawn.

District

- According to the authorities, the center in the Asklepios Clinic in Gauting is to be completed in such a way that vaccinations are possible there “as quickly as possible”.

A press release mentions “probably from the 53rd calendar week”.

That is the period from December 28th to January 3rd.

It is still unclear whether it will actually be possible to vaccinate.

After all, a Bavarian vaccination concept has not yet been established.

"Detailed recommendations for prioritization are currently being developed by the Standing Vaccination Commission," explains District Office Spokeswoman Barbara Beck.

The vaccination center in Gauting is designed so that up to 300 vaccinations can be given there every day - seven days a week.

In addition, it is the basis for four mobile vaccination teams that drive from there to their locations in the district, for example to stationary care facilities.

Medical director of the vaccination center will be Dr.

Richard Aulehner, who runs a general practitioner practice in Krailling as a resident doctor and is also the chief emergency doctor and member of the board of the BRK.

In the spring, Aulehner was also significantly involved in the corona test station run by Würmtal doctors in Krailling.

The head of the BRK Mobil department, Lukas Messerschmidt, will be in charge of administration.

A team of ten is involved in setting up the vaccination center

Some of the necessary medical staff are already available at the BRK, says Barbara Beck.

Together with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Bavaria (KVB) and the Bavarian Association of General Practitioners (BHÄV), additional staff are to be acquired.

According to Becks, more than 50 medical employees and doctors have already signed up to work in the vaccination center or on a mobile team.

A team of ten is currently working on setting up the vaccination center.

In the initial phase, the focus is primarily on the functionality of the mobile vaccination teams, the message says.

And: "The BRK ensures that the vaccination teams start vaccinating as soon as vaccine is available for the district."

District Administrator Stefan Frey is relieved.

“The BRK has an excellent network in the district,” he explains.

"It will use existing structures and work closely with the local doctors, which is very important to me." Frey had to reassign the contract under time pressure after the applicant who had initially been selected withdrew his application on Saturday.

Compared to other districts around Munich, the Starnberg district is a little behind in terms of setting up the vaccination centers.

In Ebersberg, for example, the center was presented to the public on Monday.

BRK district manager Jan Lang is also satisfied.

"It is very important to us as the BRK to offer our fellow human beings the greatest possible protection, to convey security and to make our contribution to combating and managing the Covid-19 pandemic," he explains.

According to Becks, the district office is currently working on the optimal connection of the vaccination center to local public transport.

It should be easily accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

"The vaccinations are voluntary and free of charge for all citizens, regardless of their insurance status," emphasizes the district office spokeswoman.
