Following the two cat theft incidents that occurred last month, theft of domestic cats in restaurants occurred again on Temple Street in Yau Ma Tei on Thursday (10th).
The incident occurred at 12 noon last Thursday. Someone spotted a suspicious couple of men and women on Bowring Street near Temple Street. They put a 9-year-old cat named "Fat Boy" in a restaurant and put it in white plastic. Put the cat cage in the bag and flee towards Temple Street.
The police received the report, searched the CCTV footage, and made an online appeal through the West Kowloon Animal Protection Community Ambassador Program of the West Kowloon Regional Crime Prevention Office.
The police subsequently successfully targeted the cat thief, and today (15th) arrested a 27-year-old Indonesian woman holding "street paper" and recovered the stolen cat from her residence.
After preliminary inspection, the "fat boy" is currently in good health and returned to his master Wu to take care of him.
The police hope to remind pet owners to pay more attention to their pets' movements and avoid letting their pets move out of sight to avoid accidents or opportunities for criminals.
