Felicity, a Chinese restaurant owned by Felicity Group, has been accused of defaulting on rent and air-conditioning charges at its branch in Weihua Shopping Centre, Sha Tin since September this year.
The owner of the branch filed a petition in the High Court yesterday (14th) to pursue a claim from Felicity Fair for more than 1.63 million yuan and request Felicity to return the shop.
The plaintiff is Chen Wei Shatian New City Co., Ltd., and the defendant is Zhongtai Investment Co., Ltd., which operates Felicity.
The plaintiff filed a complaint that he signed a four-year lease with the defendant in mid-2017 and leased the shops in the Sha Tin Wai Wah Shopping Centre to the other party.
The monthly rent was 400,000 yuan, and the defendant had to pay for air-conditioning and rates.
However, since September this year, the defendant has defaulted on rent and air-conditioning charges, involving a total of more than 1.63 million yuan.
The plaintiff now requires the defendant to pay the arrears, as well as compensation for related losses and interest. The plaintiff also requires the defendant to return the shop.
