The inpatients, staff and visitors at Assaf Harofeh Hospital where the murder and suicide occurred in the afternoon (Tuesday), were left shocked after the tragic incident in the neurology department.
During the incident, a 76-year-old man shot to death his wife, a terminally ill patient who was hospitalized in critical condition and then put an end to his life.
The medical center said that a patient who was in the next room was scratched in the leg by a bullet that penetrated the wall.
The couple's daughter arrived at the police station in Abu Kabir.

Noam Bitton Segal who was in the hospital at the time of the incident, told Walla!
NEWS that "I was in the ward in the room opposite, I came in from the direction of the hallway and heard an explosion. I saw an older woman lying in bed with a hole in her head and then the man also knocked himself a bullet in the head."
He added that "this bullet went through the wall and injured another patient in the next room. The duty officer on the ward asked me to call all the crews. I did not peek into the room because I did not want to see the mirrors."

Daniela Dalal came to visit her mother at the hospital in the same building where the incident took place, and said that "suddenly we saw a lot of policemen running to the hospital, they told us that a man shot his wife."
She added that "we were upstairs and did not hear the shooting".
The incident took place in the afternoon, when reports of gunfire were received on the hospital grounds.
The details of the investigation indicate that the man was admitted to the neurology department, where his wife, who suffers from a terminal illness, was hospitalized.
At one point he pulled out a gun in his possession and fired at it.
He then put an end to his life.
Initially, there were reports that the weapon in the man's possession was used by him for his work as a security guard, but the police later claimed that this was not the case and that at this stage the issue of possession of the weapon was being investigated.
