I am in principle for the referendum when it concerns questions essential for the future of the country.
The fight against global warming and for the protection of biodiversity is one of them.
You still have to know what we're talking about.
No one knows exactly what will be offered yet.
There will be a presidential project to modify the Constitution, but the text is not yet written.
Parliament will discuss it and amend it.
Then, if the two chambers agree, and only then, the president can hold a referendum.
Already, it is fortunate that the president has given up (despite his initial commitments to resume
"without filter"
the proposals of our fellow citizens drawn by lot) to make the environment prevail over the rights and freedoms of the French proclaimed in 1789,
