• The political crisis - all scenarios

The State of Israel is running for election for the fourth time in two years.

In exactly one week, next Wednesday, if a miracle does not take place as defined in the political system, the State of Israel will embark on another round of a more complicated election campaign - political, social and especially health.

These are the scenarios that could happen in the coming week:

The next votes on the way?

1. Law for the Dissolution of the Knesset

Yesterday, the struggles between blue and white and Likud members continued to advance the proposal for a vote in the Knesset, with Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin postponing the vote as much as possible.

In the law to dissolve the Knesset, blue-and-white people introduced a clause to cut party funding and repeal the law on the supervision of social networks in order to anger Likud members who oppose these laws.

After the Knesset did not go to the polls yesterday due to the short schedule, the Knesset Disbandment Law will probably go to the polls this coming Monday. Farthest to present the vaccine achievements, compared to blue and white, who want to prevent the Likud from presenting the achievement in question and hold the election as soon as possible.A scenario of going to the polls after passing the Knesset Dispersal Law is a realistic scenario.

2. Failure to transfer budget

According to the Budget Law, if the Israeli government does not pass a state budget on the due date, the government disintegrates automatically and the State of Israel goes to the polls.

After a postponement as part of the Hauser compromise from last August, the budget submission date will come next Wednesday, when it is already clear that the budget will not pass.

If they arrive next Wednesday without agreements, the Knesset will be dispersed and the election date will not be flexible, and it will be set for exactly three months - March 23.

In the current situation of the parties, in the disconnect between the Likud and Blue and White, this seems like a realistic scenario.

3. Reaching a compromise

The almost only chance of being saved from further elections is to formulate a compromise between the Likud and Blue and White on the budget issue.

Blue and white demand the transfer of the 2020 budget and at least the first reading in the Knesset on the 2021. Budget. The Likud has rejected the ultimatum several times.

Yesterday, Bnei Gantz returned and said that the Knesset was on its way to a final dispersal.

Although both sides say there are no compromise talks, party members are having a hard time closing the gap on finding a compromise as both parties have no interest in running for office.

Finding a compromise is a scenario that seems unlikely at the moment, but anything can happen.

4. Right-wing support and Mansour Abbas

In order to avoid elections, a 2020 budget transfer is required. Such a possibility, without blue and white, can exist with the help of right-wingers and Mansour Abbas, who in recent weeks have been publishing reports of a rapprochement between him and his party to the Likud.

But right now they keep saying that they intend to overthrow the government and go to the polls.

And Abbas, despite the rapprochement, also voted in favor of dissolving the Knesset and overthrowing the Likud government, an unlikely scenario.

5. Formation of a Government 61

Blue and white are leaving the government, and the Likud is forming a 61-member government that will pass a budget and continue to serve.

For this purpose, the Likud needs right-wingers, who have already announced that they do not intend to enter the government and that they are interested in elections, and two other defectors.

This is an unlikely scenario.
