Unknown to the general public, Andrea Kotarac and Hervé Juvin are among the rallying figures most highlighted by the National Rally (RN) of Marine Le Pen.
The first, former regional councilor from the ranks of rebellious France (LFI) led the RN list to the metropolis of Lyon during the last municipal elections.
The second, essayist and businessman, was number 5 on the RN list for Europeans and one of the main architects of the program.
Elected MEP, he now chairs the foundation of the European Identity & Democracy (ID) party, of which the RN is a member with its European allies.
Two figures who have decided to emancipate themselves.
According to our information, Andrea Kotarac and Hervé Juvin will launch a new formation, the localist party, during the month of January.
In a long manifesto, entitled “Chez nous!
”Which is reminiscent of the favorite slogan of the identities (“ we are at home! ”), They affirm the desire to develop a program around this central concept of localism.
Which favors not only local production and consumption but also identity and cultural differentiation.
"We cannot ask the craftsman of Aveyron to have the same standards as Nestlé", summarizes Hervé Juvin who wants to put the "principle of subsidiarity" at the heart of politics.
"It is necessary to leave to the territories the levers of experimentation, even if it means assuming differences", develops the writer who calls for the development of carnal attachment to local "small homelands".
Candidates for departmental or regional?
The concept of localism was however largely developed by Marine Le Pen during the last European and municipal ones.
"But it was not taken enough into account", regrets Hervé Juvin.
“The genetic code of the RN remains Jacobinism.
Localism is inserted but the culture of the RN is that everything must be controlled from the center.
The party was born on centralism and it is still held by ideological origins, ”explains the elected representative.
"This explains why the party is not known to have a large number of local elected representatives," he adds.
Is this a break with the RN?
"We are not in opposition but part of the party's responses are outdated," he replies frankly.
The localist party reserves the right to present candidates in the next departmental or regional elections in June.
On RN or autonomous lists?
"All options are possible," answer the two politicians who specify that they have informed Marine Le Pen of their initiative.
"It is a partner approach that gives this essential concept of localism a welcome autonomy and visibility", reacts the president of the RN to Le Parisien.
Andrea Kotarac ensures that personalities from all political horizons, and in particular from the left, like him, will announce their participation in this new party by January.
