“We want to achieve something, not just talk,” says Friedrich Hanrieder. The 76-year-old has been chairman of the Seefeld Seniors' Advisory Board since 2019. And even if six of the twelve scheduled meetings had to be canceled this year due to the pandemic, most recently the December and November meetings, the Seniors' Advisory Board has not remained inactive.

Seefeld - The excavators have been rolling on Hedwigstrasse in Ober-alting-Seefeld since mid-November.

At the unofficial groundbreaking ceremony, members of the senior citizens' council were of course also on site.

"We see the project a bit like our child," says Hanrieder.

In fact, the Seniors' Advisory Board has been pushing for senior housing to be built for many years and conducted a survey on this in 2013.

In 2014 he presented plans for Erl-Bau GmbH from Deggendorf to the municipal council.

Nothing came of the collaboration, but the Maro housing association was awarded the contract.

Two buildings are being built on Hedwigstrasse, the basement of the first is already finished, and construction of the first floor will begin there.

The total of 22 apartments should be ready for occupancy in 2022.

Hanrieder knows that the smaller apartments are all taken.

Several multi-room apartments are still available.

“Interested parties can contact me, the community or Maro,” says Hanrieder.

The Seniors 'Advisory Board is also in talks with Ulf Walliczek, builder of the senior citizens' quarter in Oberalting a few meters away.

“But we don't know the terms yet,” says Hanrieder.

There will be 26 barrier-free apartments for self-determined living in old age as well as two residential care communities and a day care facility with 17 places (we reported).

It was particularly important to Hanrieder that the senior citizens' advisory board, which has been made up of Hanrieder, Otto Klaußmann, Margita Gürtler, Gebhard Fritschi and Elke Hansbauer since 2019, alternates between the Seefelder Bräustüberl and the NBH Hechendorf.

"The meetings in Hechendorf are much more popular than those in Seefeld," he reports.

This is due to the fact that the Hechendorfer have more topics, such as the traffic situation on Oberfeld, the condition of the bike and footpaths or the desire for a weekly market.

"But that will remain difficult, if only because of the property issue." In Oberalting, people may be more satisfied, "a lot of wishes have already been fulfilled".

The Oberaltinger Hanrieder has no fear of contact with the Hechendorfer.

"That was never an issue for me."

Hanrieder is satisfied with the cooperation with Mayor Klaus Kögel.

“The first conversations were very fruitful,” he says.

Hanrieder does not want to complain about Corona.

“We'll just make the best of it.” That also means that things should continue after the lockdown in spring.
