Correspondents in Brussels and London
There was, Wednesday in Brussels, a small glimmer of hope to see - finally!
- Europeans and British to agree on their future relations.
As the negotiating teams continued their fierce discussions, Ursula von der Leyen briefed the European Parliament on the situation.
Everyone will see what they want: a glass half empty or half full depending on the observer's dose of optimism.
“Today, I can't tell you whether or not there will be an agreement.
But I can tell you that there is a way to a deal.
It is a very narrow path but it is there ”,
declared the President of the Commission.
In fact, the progress made is real.
They relate in particular to governance, in other words to the mechanisms that would make it possible to deal with disputes in the event that one of the parties violates the agreement.
"It is now settled",
announced the boss of the European executive.
Things are moving forward too
