Parents who no longer receive vacation, work in systemically important or self-employed professions or are single parents are entitled to emergency care for their children.

District -

All schools have been closed since yesterday - there is only emergency care for first to sixth graders who cannot be looked after otherwise.

Head of the education office, Jürgen Heiss, is responsible for all elementary and middle schools in the district.

His conclusion after the first day of school in tough lockdown: "The emergency care is used very differently."

Different response in the district

The primary schools in Otterfing and Miesbach, with around 20 children each, are in the lead.

"At many other schools nobody came at all," says Heiss.

In the Hausham middle school there are four students who use the emergency care, in Fischbachau there is only one child.

However, the head of the school office does not organize a comprehensive query.

“The schools take care of that themselves.” As different as the response to the offer is, the way it is carried out is just as different: “Some schools offer separate supervision for each class so as not to mix up the classes,” he explains.

If there is little demand, however, care is also possible in a large shared room - as long as distances are maintained.

The head of the school administration welcomes the fact that on average only a few pupils come to emergency care: “We want to reduce contacts.

It makes sense if the children are cared for at home if possible. "

Students are not entitled to travel

According to Heiß, there is no entitlement to school transport to emergency care and back.

“That would also be counterproductive to put the children on a bus.” Parents would have to bring their children to school and pick them up again themselves.

According to the head of the school administration, there is also no obligation to register.

“However, some schools offer registration forms in order to be able to plan better.”
