"Even today, I ask to understand why I committed this act ..." This Wednesday before the Assize Court of Essonne in Evry-Courcouronnes, Marc S., accused of having murdered the manager of the bar- tobacco of the town hall on September 13, 2016 in Corbeil-Essonnes, could not explain the motive of his gesture.
That day, after an argument with the boss who housed him, the man, now 50, shot him five times before fleeing.
In front of the court, Marc S. has answers to all the questions… except when asked why he killed Ezzedine.
"Civil parties can hate me," he breathes at the start of the hearing.
What I have done is unforgivable.
Filmed by surveillance cameras in the store, the scene was broadcast to the court.
On the images, a first argument between the two men broke out at 8:16 pm "I could not stand how he treated his wife, it was simply modern slavery," he asserts.
I told him about the electronic devices he had confiscated from her.
He replied that it was not my problem and asked me to go up to my room.

Marc S. is surprised by the answer.
His friend has never spoken to him like that but he does.
A floor below, a violent argument still opposes Ezzedine to his wife.
"I heard a great shard of glass," continues the accused.
I thought he had thrown it in the window.
So I went downstairs.

Before rushing down the stairs, Marc grabs a revolver belonging to Ezzedine.
“When he arrived in the evening, he was always armed to take the recipe to the bank, defends the accused.
He wore his weapon on his belt, under his t-shirt.
That day, I didn't know if he had one or not.
The president intervenes: "What motivated the first shot?
"" I don't know, mumbles the accused.
It's like I'm in a tunnel.
The first shot is probably a preventive shot to see if his gun was next to him.

A few minutes later, the lawyer for the civil parties returns to the charge with the same question.

After this first shot, five more will follow before the accused goes back to his room, grabs a few photos, his wallet and steps over the body of the deceased to escape.

These six blows, including five that hit Ezzedine, remain unexplained to this day.
For only justification, Marc recalls how badly he lived “the violence exerted by Ezzedine on his wife”: “It was my friend.
I thought I could make him change his demons.
My goal was not for him to die, I wanted him to stop doing crap like that… but it's too late, ”he concluded with a shrug.
Depending on the progress of the debates, the verdict is expected for this Thursday or Friday.
