A person was trapped in a coma in Kwai Chung.
At about 10 pm yesterday (December 16), the authorities received a report from a security guard at Shek Yee House, Shek Lei (2) Village, Kwai Chung, stating that a male resident living alone had not been seen for many days and he called for a photo shoot. No one answered the door, fearing that he would have an accident, so he reported the case for help.
Rescuers rushed to the scene in response to the report. Among them, the firefighter used tools to break into the house and found a man in a coma. The ambulanceman immediately took over the inspection and initially learned that the male victim was still in a coma.
After initial first aid, the victim was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital by an ambulance.
The police intervened in the investigation and were learning about the incident. The case was classified as "someone fainted" for follow-up.
It is known that the male victim is 58 years old and has slightly recovered consciousness after being rescued.
The Observatory issued Hong Kong's first cold weather warning since the beginning of winter this year at 10 o'clock last night.
Looking at the information, at 10 o'clock last night, the temperature in Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan was only about 12 degrees.
The Observatory urges members of the public who know elderly people living alone or patients with chronic diseases to call or visit them occasionally to see if they need help. The public should keep warm, wear warm clothes and maintain good indoor ventilation.
The public should also avoid being exposed to the cold wind for a long time to avoid catching cold and affecting their health.
