The Dohat Al Mimas Club band in Homs presented the audience of the Arab Music Festival with rich performances of the Arab singing and dancing heritage at the cultural palace theater in the city.
The ceremony, which was given by the club members to the spirit of its president, the late artist Muhammad Barri Al-Awani, in recognition of his literary and artistic career as a director, writer, theater and actor, which spanned for 40 years of giving, lasted an hour and included musical and lyrical musical connections that varied between the maqamat of Bayat, Al-Rasheed, Hijaz, the poem of Reda and Light by Mrs. Umm Kulthum in addition to Muwashah Mulla al-Kasas by Muhammad Othman in the voice of the band’s leader, Burhan al-Sabbagh.
The ceremony was accompanied by dances by Al-Samah band, its coach, Sadikia Al-Shabaan.
The writer and artist, Tamam Al-Awani, a member of the club, considered in a statement to SANA Cultural that the participation of the band is a token of loyalty and appreciation for the career of the artist Berri Al-Awani, and an affirmation of it on the club's heritage identity and its long-standing career in preserving the heritage and authentic music.
The trainer Al-Shabaan explained that the dancers of the group were condemned 5 dancers within the singing paragraphs of the concert in formations, tones, rhythms and multiple steps in harmony with the muwashahat, including two Samah dances, the first is Sama’i Hijaz with a full link and the second is a monitoring link that notes the presence of the club’s audience of muwashshah and al-Samah dance.
It is noteworthy that the Doha Al-Mimas Club for Music and Acting was established in 1933 with the efforts of a number of educated young people in Homs, headed by the late writer and playwright Murad Al-Sebaei, in order to form an artistic cultural gathering that includes musical and theatrical teams and clubs that were present in Homs at the time.
