The Knesset's legal adviser decided today (Wednesday) that the 23rd Knesset will dissolve on Tuesday at midnight, a day before the planned date, if no compromise is found on a budget for 2020. The political system worked on the assumption that the deadline for dissolving the Knesset is Wednesday at midnight. The Knesset's legal further narrows the Likud's window of opportunity and blue and white to reach a solution that will prevent elections, leaving only four potential Knesset working days in which legislative changes can be made that would be required if they reached an agreement.

Among the legal advisers, a dispute arose over the date of the dispersal - whether it will be on Tuesday or Wednesday at midnight, Acting Legal Adviser Sagit Afik claimed that the dispersal should be on Wednesday at midnight, but Knesset committee spokeswoman Adv. Arbel Astrakhan claimed that it was Tuesday.
