, according to leaked audio.
British newspaper The Sun published a recording on Wednesday of Cruise, 58,
yelling at his crew
on set.
Although the exact cause of his outbreak is unclear, The Sun reports that Cruise was addressing
two members
of the crew who he believed
had violated COVID-19 protocols
while filming near London.

NBC News has not confirmed the authenticity of the audio or its context, but has contacted representatives for Cruise, his attorneys and Paramount Pictures.
Both The New York Times and Variety magazine cited anonymous sources close to the film confirming the authenticity of the recording.

In it a man, supposedly Cruise, is heard yelling: "If I see you do it again,
you're going to go.
And
if someone on the team does it, it's over.
And you too and you too. And you, don't come back to do it never again. "
In the audio he is heard using bad words multiple times.
Cruise is the producer and protagonist of the film in which he reprises an action role as Ethan Hunt.
In the audio, he seems to tell the team that Hollywood relies on movies like his to keep the beleaguered industry that has suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic going.

was one of the first productions to stop for the coronavirus when filming stopped in Venice in February.
In July, Cruise personally appealed to the Prime Minister of Norway to shoot parts of the film in his country under modified quarantine rules.
It is scheduled to premiere in November 2021.
