Turkey recorded 240 new deaths during the past twenty-four hours, in a record increase in the number of daily deaths, bringing the total deaths from the disease to 17,121 cases.
According to data from the Turkish Ministry of Health today, 29,718 new cases of the virus were also recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of cases to 1,982 million infections since the beginning of the pandemic last March.
A curfew was imposed during working days and a general isolation was imposed on weekends in an attempt to curb the increase in injuries.
