The representative of the World Health Organization in Russia, Melita Vugnovich, expects that the first generation of Corona virus vaccines will contribute to stopping the spread of the epidemic only if the largest possible section of the population around the world is vaccinated.

“The higher the vaccination rate, the faster the number of infected people, which contributes to the gradual containment and reduction of the spread of the virus,” Vugnovich explained in an interview with Russia Channel 24, and therefore the first generation vaccines have stopped the epidemic.

She added that obtaining vaccines and producing them in large quantities is one of the main priorities for all mankind, pointing out that the World Health Organization is working with every country facing difficulties in developing a vaccination plan.

It is noteworthy that two vaccines against the Coronavirus have been registered in Russia, the first of which is produced by the Victor Research Center for Virology and Biotechnology, the second developed by Gamalia National Center for Epidemiology Research, and there is a possibility to register a third vaccine developed at the Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immune and Biological Products of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
