Al-Miqdad discusses with Slutsky the friendship and cooperation between Syria and Russia

Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, discussed with Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Russian State Duma, the friendship and cooperation relations between Syria and Russia.

During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Russian Duma in Moscow today, Slutsky expressed high appreciation for the achievements made by Syria and the Russian Federation in combating terrorism, once again for his country to stand by Syria to enhance its capabilities and overcome the effects of Western coercive measures imposed on it.

Slutsky also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields.

For his part, Dr. Al-Miqdad affirmed appreciation for Russia's stances in support of Syria, stressing the importance of the role that parliamentary diplomacy plays in strengthening friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.

The two sides exchanged discussions on the importance of activating and coordinating work between the Syrian People's Assembly and the Russian Duma.

The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying Dr. Al-Miqdad and a number of officials and advisors in the Russian Duma.
