The Belgian health authorities announced that the daily infection rate with the Coronavirus has returned to an increase after witnessing a gradual decline for weeks.

The National Crisis Management Center reported that 3636 new cases of Covid 19 were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total infection rates to 615056 cases, in addition to recording 100 deaths, bringing the total deaths to 18,278 cases.

The center indicated in its daily report that there are 2,712 infected people with HIV being treated in hospitals, 594 of them in intensive care units.

Prime Minister Alexander Ducrow will hold a consultative meeting with heads of local governments and a committee of experts on Friday to study the current situation and determine trends during the holidays.

And local sources indicate that the federal government may resort to imposing more restrictions and procedures during the holidays in an attempt to avoid a third wave of the epidemic in the country.
