Christo and Jeanne-Claude's secret garden up for auction

Coming from the New York apartment, their intimate collection made up of friendships is on sale in February at Sotheby's in Paris.


Home, workshop, laboratory of ideas, the "48 Howard", at the crossroads of Soho and Chinatown, housed the collection of works of art of Christo and Jeanne-Claude in New York.

It has remained hidden from view in this nineteenth-century four-storey building without elevator discovered in 1964 thanks to the sculptor Claes Oldenburg and acquired definitively in 1972, with its showroom downstairs and its workshop upstairs.
