Update from December 17, 9:19 p.m.:
A contemplative preparation for the upcoming Christmas is different: A few days before Christmas Eve, the house blessing between the CSU and free voters in the
Bavarian coalition
hangs
neatly wrong.
Trigger for this?
The
technical problems
with the digital
learning platform Mebis
.
On the very first day of the
lockdown
, the
digital platform
crashed.
Even on Thursday, she was initially difficult to reach.
That is why the minister of culture
Michael Piazolo
(Free Voters) is
the main critic
.
Florian Steibl, head of the parliamentary group of Free Voters, specifically described the criticism from CSU State Chancellery Florian Herrmann as inappropriate and unfair.
Corona lockdown: Mebis disruptions cause trouble in the Bavarian coalition
According to Streibl, such statements indicate a “lack of understanding”.
Herrmann had demanded that the
Ministry of Education
and
Culture should
stop
all
Mebis malfunctions
by the end of the Christmas holidays
.
Streibl now called on the CSU to take the edge off the debate about the learning platform.
Streibl's criticism goes back to a request made by Herrmann this Wednesday.
In it he had - like
Söder
on Monday
in the state parliament - declares that the Ministry of Culture
will have to get a grip on
all malfunctions on the
learning platform
by the
end of the Christmas holidays
.
A
return coach
to Streibl's statements was not long in coming: "Instead of solving the problems, talk about things nicely," it said from government circles.
Furthermore, the criticism of the Free Voters is called a
“testimony of helplessness
” that provokes “only a perplexed shake of the head”.

In Bavaria there are around 1.65 million students who have
not been allowed to go to school

Corona: Munich is thinking about Oktoberfest - according to Söder, Bavaria is ready to vaccinate
Update from December 17th, 6.15 a.m
.: The decision about the
Oktoberfest 2021
should be made in June at the latest.
"The decision as to whether the Oktoberfest can take place, we will then make in the coming year, taking into account the necessary preliminary planning, that can be in April, but also in May or even June," said
Mayor Dieter Reiter
(SPD) of the
German press Agency (dpa).
"Of course I can understand that many would like to know now whether the
Oktoberfest
can take place next year or not," Reiter said.
"But nobody can predict at the moment how the corona pandemic will develop." The SPD politician was cautious.
"I would be very happy if the Oktoberfest can take place in 2021".
But that is only possible if the corona situation worldwide allows it.
Reiter canceled this year's Oktoberfest together with Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on April 21
Corona in Bavaria: Söder hopes the vaccination will start this year
Markus Söder hopes that
corona vaccinations
can be started
in Bavaria this year
.
He announced special security measures to protect vaccines from attacks.
"It is great hope and good news that it may still be vaccinated in December," said the CSU head of the
Augsburger Allgemeine
(Thursday) with a view to the expected European approval of the
Biontech vaccine
on December 21.
The Berlin Senate Administration, chairing the Conference of Health Ministers, announced on Wednesday evening that the federal states are preparing for vaccinations to start on December 27th.
This was the result of a switching conference with Federal Health
Minister
Jens Spahn
(CDU), it was also said from government circles.
The specific vaccine batches also have to be checked by the federal Paul Ehrlich Institute.
Mass vaccinations are the best
long-term strategy
against corona, stressed Söder.
"The protection actually only works effectively with the vaccination." The logistics in Bavaria are ready to go: "We have over a hundred vaccination centers and a total of 3,000 doctors want to be available," says Söder.
“That should work very well if the vaccine comes in Bavaria this year.” According to the Ministry of Health, more than 30,000 people in the Free State could be vaccinated every day.
Corona in Bavaria: "All possible threats" - vaccine must be protected, according to Söder
The head of government also said that the vaccine must be protected from being stolen or destroyed.
There are "all possible threats" on the net.
Germany is in the most difficult phase of the whole pandemic: "From the history of the epidemic, we know that the second wave is always the worse because many people underestimate the risk if you have survived the first wave well," said Söder.
"Now we are well over 20,000 new infections a day, we can no longer cope with that," he said of the nationwide numbers.

Corona lockdown in Bavaria: certain trips remain allowed
Update from December 16, 2:39 p.m.: The lockdown has been in effect
in Bavaria since today.
Long-term train or air travel during the night is
exceptionally allowed
despite the nationwide night
curfew
.
According to the Ministry of Health, anyone who has to go to the train station or airport or home from there between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. does not have to fear a fine of 500 euros.
A ministry spokesman referred on Wednesday to the joint
appeal from the federal and state governments
to refrain from unnecessary travel due to the Corona situation.
And in view of the nightly curfew in Bavaria, trips should "basically be planned so that the destination apartment is reached by 9 p.m. or the area of validity of the curfew is left".
The
exception will
then apply to trips that have already been booked on this Wednesday before the new regulation came into force
.
According to the ministry, anyone who is delayed by train or stuck in a traffic jam does not have to fear a fine.
"Anyone who stays outside of an apartment through no fault of their own (for example because of delays or traffic obstructions when driving home) during the curfew is not acting improperly if they go into an apartment immediately," the spokesman said.

Corona in Bavaria: Lockdown begins - business closes, fines for violations
With the lockdown, the state government wants to contain the corona virus *, because the health system is groaning among
Covid 19 patients
in hospitals.
The authorities have been overburdened for months.
In many places they can no longer call all the contacts of an infected person.
As the last of the 16 federal states and at the very last minute, the Free State published the new
Corona regulation
shortly before midnight
, which will initially apply until January 10th.
As a result, many shops have been closed since Wednesday.
Only dealers with everyday goods such as grocery stores, beverage stores, health food stores, drugstores, opticians, hearing aid acousticians, but also petrol stations, car workshops or dry cleaners are allowed to open.
Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., staying in public spaces is only permitted for a few valid reasons.
In the event of violations, hefty fines await. * You

Corona in Bavaria: Relaxation at Christmas - Söder and Herrmann defend lockdown
There should
only
be easing
for the
Christmas holidays
.
It is unclear whether schools, restaurants or shops will be allowed to open after the Christmas holidays.
If the corona numbers do not decrease significantly, the lockdown could be extended beyond January 10th.
The seven-day incidence * for the entire Free State is currently over 200. A value of 50 is the goal, then
health authorities will
be able to track contacts again.
In an interview with the radio station
Bayern 3
, Söder and State Chancellor Florian Herrmann defended the current lockdown and answered questions from the audience.
The CSU boss also admitted with a view to the rules: "It's not easy."
Corona in Bavaria: Söder promises easing at Christmas - on one condition
In the conversation, Söder even held the prospect of a further possible easing for Christmas - but on one condition.
If the numbers dropped drastically in the next eight days, one could also talk about the 9 p.m. curfew on Christmas Eve, he said.
"If the numbers go down significantly by Christmas, you can discuss anything," said Söder.
However, he fears: "Christmas Eve could be the high this year."
"On
Christmas Eve
, many people will die from and with Corona *," warns Söder.
Many doctors and nurses would have to deal with it.
It is therefore important to stick together, he appealed.
Corona lockdown in Bavaria: Not "that half of Munich at once ..."
One of the listeners also wanted to know whether she
could go hiking
with her family during the
winter holidays
, because she hadn't realized that yet.
“That is possible,” says Herrmann.
"Because sport and exercise in the fresh air are of course possible." However, he appealed not to overdo it and to go for a walk in your own environment.
Not that “half of Munich storms the whole of the Oberland at once.”
