Lattakia-SANA The General Federation of Trade Unions launched the Central Committee for Working Women in cooperation with the Development Authority

The General Federation of Trade Unions - the Central Committee for Working Women, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, launched the project "Supporting the Economies of the Working Family" aimed at working women in the governorates.

The project, which was launched today at the headquarters of the General Organization for Maritime Training and Rehabilitation in Lattakia, aims to educate, qualify and train working women in all work sites in addition to training a member of the worker's family in a profession from which he can launch his own project and provide the necessary support and marketing assistance, as the Projects Development Authority is responsible for Small enterprise development.

The President of the General Union, Jamal Al-Qadri, stressed that the training process will be the responsibility of the body, which will provide all work requirements for all female workers in a way that deepens the union’s presence in the social milieu in line with ways to support income and raise and improve the standard of living for citizens, especially for paid workers.

Al-Qadri explained that the launch of this project came to add support to the family, as the project offers creative initiatives to secure the necessary financing for home production, help in marketing the product and its disposal through exhibitions, and to supply the labor market with new skills and experiences that contribute to the reconstruction, indicating that the project will be launched next Sunday in six major governorates: Damascus - Tartous - Lattakia - Homs - Aleppo - Hama and it will extend to include all governorates.

For his part, the Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, Eng. Ihab Asmander, emphasized that this experience comes within the framework of developing human capital, which is positively reflected on the capital in our country and the importance of the project comes from the fact that it searches for other sources of income for the Syrian family in a way that contributes to improving their livelihood and securing Her requirements, explaining that he started with three courses, namely, clothing, beauty, and detergents manufacturing, and additional courses such as patient care, e-commerce and e-marketing will be opened in turn, and it will include other governorates, and the courses will be for periods ranging between 3 and 6 months, through which the trainees are granted professional certificates.

Yahya Haj Hassan, a makeup trainer, pointed out that he will teach the trainees the basics of make-up until they reach professionalism. The course will provide the tools required for the trainees to work on the ground, and certificates will be obtained at the end of the course.

Mazen Ghazoul, the trainer of detergents manufacturing workshop, explained that the importance of this industry comes from being a daily consumption need and it could become a big project for the trainee to do his project in the future.

Basil Mohamed, a participant in the detergent industry education course, noted the importance of holding these courses to obtain a craft and a profession to improve living conditions and obtain additional income, expressing his hope to provide real support to the trainees in terms of material and licenses.

In conclusion, a cooperation agreement was signed between the General Federation of Trade Unions and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.

The launch of the project was attended by the Governor of Latakia, Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem, the Secretary of the Latakia branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Dr. Eng. Haitham Ismail, and a number of representatives of trade union activities in the governorate.
