Information Minister Imad Sarah confirmed that the Syrian media is ready to confront all attempts to target or silence it, pointing out that the decision of the European administration of the Eutelsat satellite to land Syrian official media channels is part of the war on Syria in which all kinds of religious, economic, media and other weapons were used.
Minister Sarah said in an interview with "Sham FM" radio today that "in front of these wars we expect the worst, and not only silencing the national media, but besieging everything in Syria." Radio and television with mortar shells and terrorist bombing operations, but the organization, with all its channels, is currently on the air.
Minister Sarah stated that the national media, which presented 40 martyrs and more than 60 wounded in defense of Syria, is ready to confront all attempts to target or silence him, adding, "Currently, we are witnessing a war on social media by targeting all Syrian institutions through an attempt to demonize them, including the national media."
The Minister of Information said that “the Syrian channels will remain on the same orbit, degrees 8 and 7, and there is no need to change the dish or needle, but rather the frequency,” noting that the ministry has spare measures and alternatives, including broadcasting on the Russian satellite, which needs changing the direction of the dish and adding a needle to receive the transmission.
Minister Sara pointed out that there is also a terrestrial broadcast system that has five television channels that will reach a number of governorates and soon it will reach all of them, explaining that there is an agreement with the General Sports Federation to activate the sports channel and to supervise it.
With regard to paper newspapers, the Minister Sara indicated that the return of their paper issue is linked to the Coronavirus, and in the event that it exceeds its risks in the country, it will return to publication.
