Two young people of Palestinian descent assisted several people in attacking six fellow villagers three years ago, resulting in 1 death and 2 injuries. The case was sentenced in the High Court today (17th). The judge pointed out that although the two defendants did not act directly, they committed the crime with others. The defendant who was responsible for driving was finally sentenced to life imprisonment, and the other was a minor at the time of the case The defendant was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The two defendants were accused of murder faced by ATIF Aqib (24 years old) and MOHAMMAD Shahzeb (19 years old), alleging that they murdered WAQAR Hamed (25 years old) in Hong Kong on November 13, 2017.

The two counts of involuntary assault alleged that they illegally and maliciously injured Singh Jaskarn Brar and Mohammad Yasin at the Ngau Tau Kok Road Playground in Kowloon Bay on the same day.

The defendant was 17 years old at the time of the crime

When sentencing, the judge pointed out that although the two defendants were not the assailants in the case, they committed the crime together.

Since the defendant was only 17 years old at the time of the crime, the judge sentenced him to 18 years' imprisonment for the crime. Together with the two counts of intentional wounding, he was sentenced to 20 years in total.

The judge also pointed out that the injuries of the two injured can be fatal, but luck can save their lives.

8 South Asian male attacked with a knife

According to the prosecution plan, the deceased, the two injured, and the other three people drank and chatted at the Ngau Tau Kok Road Playground on the evening of November 13, 2017.

During the period, eight South Asian men armed with beef knives and other weapons rushed towards the dead and others and attacked them.

The deceased was chopped to severe bleeding and became unconscious. He was certified dead after being sent to hospital.

The first defendant left Hong Kong afterwards

The prosecution said that before the incident, there were three vehicles wandering around the amusement park. The attackers were mainly picked up by a Toyota private car. The first defendant drove a black private car and another private car to monitor the situation.

The prosecution also stated that the second defendant who was in the same car as the first defendant was responsible for pointing the target to the assailant.

The first defendant left Hong Kong after the incident and was arrested when he returned to Hong Kong in December of the same year. The second defendant was arrested in January the following year.
