U.S. Vice President Mike Pence today (Friday) vaccinated the corona virus live in front of the cameras, in order to instill confidence in the public.
His wife, Karen, and senior White House physician Jerome Adams also received the first of two shots in Pfizer's vaccine, ahead of the expected approval for Moderna's vaccine later in the day.
"The American people can be sure: we have one vaccine, and maybe two in a few hours, for sure," Pence said ahead of the forthcoming decision by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), after an outside team of experts gave the green light tonight to approve Modera's vaccine.

Flashlight gets the vaccine
The administration of outgoing President Donald Trump launched the plague vaccination campaign earlier than even some sources believed possible.
However, five days after vaccinations began across the United States, Trump did not hold public events to encourage vaccination and did not vaccinate himself.
The Republican president, who has yet to acknowledge his loss to President-elect Joe Biden, only tweeted twice about the shot, while Lantern took the main stage.
During the week, Lantern visited a vaccine manufacturing plant, before receiving the injection himself today.
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said yesterday that they will be vaccinated in the coming days.
