Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has renewed its condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s plans to annex parts of the West Bank, stressing that they undermine any opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.

In this regard, the ministry warned in a statement today reported by Wafa that the expansion plans of the occupation aim to continue the theft of thousands of dunums of agricultural land in the West Bank, including the occupied Jordan Valley, to establish new settlement outposts at the expense of the land of the State of Palestine.

The Ministry urged the United Nations not to be satisfied with statements of condemnation and expressions of concern, calling on it to shoulder its responsibilities and pressure the occupation to stop its illegal settlement plans and take measures to implement UN Resolution 2334 of 2016, which calls for the occupation to immediately stop all settlement operations on the occupied Palestinian territories.

The announcement by the Israeli occupation authorities of its plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank in implementation of the provisions of the so-called (deal of the century) aimed at settling the Palestinian issue sparked widespread Palestinian and international rejection. Palestinian cities and towns and a number of European and American cities witnessed mass demonstrations to reject these plans.
