Zulema Yoma, Carlos Menem's ex-wife, acknowledged this Friday that the former president "last night had a heart problem" that complicated his health, but assured that now "he is better."

"Everything is fine, controlled.

Last night he had a heart problem but he is better, thank God

," Yoma said in statements to radio Miter.

Menem remains hospitalized at the Los Arcos clinic, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, which he entered last Tuesday due to a urinary infection.

"The state is delicate," said sources around the current senator consulted by

On Thursday, his daughter Zulema Menem indicated that she estimated that her father will be present at the Senate vote on December 29, when the bill for the voluntary interruption of pregnancy is discussed.

"He is sure that he will be there to vote if God wants. It is on 29 (December), so we calculate that he will be well at home, and he will do it remotely," said "Zulemita" Menem in statements radial.

Regarding the position that Menem will have in the vote, his daughter said that the Riojan senator "established the Day of the Unborn Child at the time, and is absolutely pro-life, and you know what his idea is" and added: "Hopefully that is well and can participate ".

Zulema Menem also confirmed that her mother, Zulema Yoma, is taking care of the health of the former president: "The old woman takes care of us all. She is always above the whole family, and my father is within that family," he said.

During this year, Menem had had other hospitalizations: on one occasion, he was admitted to the Institute for Diagnosis and Treatment for bilateral pneumonia, after which he was hospitalized for a low blood saturation condition.

Menem, former president of the Nation in the period 1989-1999, has a mandate as senator for the province of La Rioja until 2023.
