The concert preparations were unusual.

Wolfratshausen / Münsing

- Theoretically, Christmas started for the Waldramer singers in June.

Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) asked if the quartet wanted to take part in "Christmas with the pub musicians".

Dominic Feichtner, Tobias Brustmann, Benedikt Brustmann and Sebastian Brustmann wanted.

The four can be seen on Christmas Day and that at prime time.

We stood on the terrace in the most beautiful sunshine and sang 'Silent Night'. "

Sebastian Brustmann

“We stood on the terrace in the most beautiful sunshine and sang 'Silent Night'”, Sebastian Brustmann remembers the rehearsals.

However, the four men always received charming support.

“We should prepare a few pieces with the Münsingen singers.” Apart from Rosalie Schwabl and Rosina Müller, a family reunion.

Benedikt Brustmann: "Tobias is married to Elisabeth Brustmann, formerly Bolzmacher." And what did the neighbors say about this Christmas singing?

"Fortunately, they are used to that from us."

At the beginning of November, the Waldramer singers and the Münsinger singers made their way to the recording in the Hirzinger inn in Söllhuben in Upper Bavaria.

"Before that, all participants - regardless of whether they were musical guests or not - had received a comprehensive hygiene concept so that as few people as possible were in the same place at the same time."

When recording, only the lips moved

In addition, many groups had a second “sentence” up their sleeves, so to speak.

"You didn't know whether someone would be infected before the recording was made," reports Benedikt Brustmann.

The Tölz boys' choir was also there in small cast.

“They sang their pieces outside and later only moved their lips while recording them.” The reason: The formation of aerosols should be avoided as far as possible.

Otherwise it was a matter of keeping your distance.

"If there are seven of you standing on the stage decorated for Christmas, the last one is about 14 meters away from the first," says Benedikt Brustmann.

However, good camera work gives the impression of proximity.

The look into the audience is similar.

“Those sitting there were taken diagonally.

You can't see the empty spaces in between. "

Still, the four had fun.

“It's just an experience.

And it was absolutely nice to see presenter Traudi Siferlinger again, ”the brothers agree.

They meet again and again at various events, and the relationship is now almost amicable.

"The team is always great too - everyone is well-coordinated and really nice."

The recording can be seen on December 25th

The Waldramer singers will certainly watch the recording.

“You know so many contributors.

You also want to see how you come across, ”says Sebastian Brustmann.

The brothers have to laugh.

“Of course there are also recordings of us - especially on YouTube - where you think in retrospect, can't you take that out?” But ultimately only one thing counts: the joy of music.

Info:

"Christmas with the pub musicians" will be broadcast on Friday, December 25th at 8:15 pm in the BR.

Guests are cook Veronika Lutz and tree expert Thomas Janscheck.

The musical accompaniment is provided by the brass instruments Brassessoires, the Tassilo musicians, the Tölzer Knabenchor, the Münsinger singers, the Weilheim woodwind trio and the Duo Zweimalig.
