In the video: Deputy Attorney General sharply attacks leaders in Israel (Walla! NEWS system)
Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit announced this evening (Sunday) to the High Court that he has decided not to take disciplinary action against his deputy, Dina Zilber, due to the critical speech she delivered against the political echelon last month. Zilber violates the Civil Service Regulations and constitutes a disciplinary offense.
The petition demanded that the High Court order Mandelblit to suspend Zilber and take disciplinary action against her.
According to Mandelblit, the petition should be dismissed because it was filed prematurely, because at the time it was filed he had not yet decided not to take disciplinary action against Zilber.
On the other hand, it is no longer possible to take disciplinary action against her, since she ended her term in the civil service today.

The ombudsman also wrote in a response submitted through the High Courts Department of the State Attorney's Office that the petition should also be rejected in its entirety.
According to Mandelblit, last Tuesday he had a conversation with Zilber, asked her to comment on things, and decided not to take further steps against her.
According to him, this is a decision "that is in accordance with the provisions of the law, relies on solid foundations and is certainly a determination that is within the bounds of reasonableness, and there is no reason to intervene in it."
