An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale this morning struck the Managish area, southwest of Kuwait.
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted the director of the Kuwaiti National Seismic Network at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Abdul-Anzi, as saying that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers underground.
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Institute said earlier that the epicenter of the quake was 55 km south of the Ahmadi governorate and 41 km west of Al-Wafra on the borders between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia at a latitude of 28.85 north and longitude 4.58 east.
There were no immediate reports from Kuwait or Saudi Arabia of any damage or injuries from the quake.
