Good news for those in need in the Erding district: the food banks can stay open.

You are preparing for the Christmas edition.

District -

Good news for those in need in the district: The boards may remain open in the corona lockdown.

This emerges from a letter from Bavaria's Minister of Social Affairs, Carolina Trautner.

So today food can be handed out in Dorfen, on Wednesday in Erding and Taufkirchen.

“The charitable food banks serve the basic needs of people in need in our society.

In doing so, they are making an extremely important contribution, ”emphasized the Minister.

It goes without saying that the protective precautions that have been taken must be observed.

Masks are required for staff and customers.

Petra Bauernfeind, Chairman of the Neighborhood Aid (NBH) Erding, adds: "Even the police have expressly praised us for adhering to our hygiene measures."

She emphasizes: “We will continue with the food expenses as long as we are personally able to do so.

That means that our operations will also run normally on December 23rd and 30th. ”Only in the first week of the new year do the volunteers allow themselves a little break around Epiphany, January 6th.

Bauernfeind also has good news from the NBH office: “In the past few days we have received a lot of donations in kind and money from the population, despite the uncertain personal economic situation.

We thank you for this and see this as recognition of our joint efforts. "

The Dorfener Tafel is already distributing bags of groceries this Monday.

The primary school students from Schwindegg also got presents and wrapped them in colored paper so that every child in the community area receives a present on Christmas Eve.

“There are always special foods in the bags at Christmas,” says Monika Rudolf, deputy chairwoman of the Dorfener Tafel.

Coffee, for example, or Christmas cake and honey.

Over 150 affected people will come to the blackboard today.

Corona did not make the situation of people who had problems before the pandemic any easier, says Brigitte Museler, head of operations.

More than ten families have come since the crisis.

Many seniors are also among those in need.

“People over the age of 60 find it more difficult to accept help.

On the one hand, they are more modest in their way of life, on the other hand, they are embarrassed, ”says Museler.

If the Tafel employees come into contact, for example on the phone, they try to convince those affected to accept help: “Older people are often lonely, especially when they are poorer.

Many no longer have families. ”Museler will therefore get in the car and visit all those who are sick or handicapped.

“People are happy about the food.

But we also rattle a little, that's good. ”The oldest affected person is over 80.

The Taufkirchener Tafel has been closed since mid-November due to corona.

On Wednesday, December 23rd, the Christmas edition will now take place outdoors.

The organization team around Christine Schick contacted the donors weeks ago, the VR-Bank bus to collect the goods is full, the volunteers are ready.

On the day before Christmas Eve from 8 a.m., long-life food in particular is distributed in large quantities without contact.

Fresh eggs, fruit, vegetables, sausage, bread and baked goods are also on offer.

“A number of private donors have also announced that they want to support the good cause,” says Schick happily.

The Lions Club Erding made it possible to dispense milk, sugar, salt, flour, pasta, rice and canned goods in generous quantities.

Its president Ingrid Kratzer and Georg Hagl from Kramerei am Kreisel in Dorfen brought food worth 1,000 euros.

Hagl has increased the quantities and Kratzer added drinks to the delivery.

So it is possible for customers to bridge the time until the next regular blackboard issue on January 12th.
