The areas planted with irrigated wheat in Homs, since the beginning of the current winter agricultural season and until now, have reached more than 17,023 hectares, with an implementation rate of 95 percent, and rainfed wheat more than 23,478 hectares, with an implementation rate of 97 percent.
The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Nazih Al-Rifai, confirmed in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the area planted with irrigated barley reached 388 hectares, with an implementation rate of 72 percent, and with rainfed barley 36170 hectares, with an implementation rate of 78 percent.
The plan of the Agricultural Directorate in Homs for the current season at the district level includes planting 41,982 hectares of wheat, an increase of 1,820 hectares over the areas that were planned last year.
