If everything goes well, the corona vaccine will also be available in the district from December 27th.

Initially, only the residents of the retirement homes are vaccinated.

  • The corona vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer should also be available in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district from December 27th.

  • First, the almost 1200 residents of the senior citizens' homes in the district are vaccinated by mobile vaccination teams.

  • It is currently unclear when operations in the vaccination center will begin

Talks about a second vaccination center in Bad Tölz have not yet been concluded.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- As expected, the EU Medicines Agency approved the corona vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer on Monday.

You can vaccinate from Sunday, December 27th.

In the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, however, all doses of the vaccine will initially go to the mobile vaccination teams that will be out and about in the care facilities.

According to the prioritization list, the district is currently concentrating on the residents of the retirement homes, says Marlis Peischer, press spokeswoman for the district office, on request.

A demand survey has already taken place in the facilities in the past few weeks (we reported).

The mobile vaccination teams consist of employees from the Aicher Group, which will also operate the vaccination center in the former X-ray clinic of the Wolfratshausen district clinic.

Almost 1200 residents live in the retirement homes in the district

Almost 1200 senior citizens live in the various facilities in the district.

"The nursing staff would actually also be entitled, but we are concentrating our efforts on the residents for the time being," says Peischer.

That should take some time.

How long it will actually take is unclear, according to Peischer, since it is not yet known how many vaccine doses the district will be able to dispose of in the coming weeks.

“We assume that the number of preparations that would be necessary to vaccinate all those who should be vaccinated first according to the criteria set by the federal government will not be available immediately,” said Peischer.

Especially since every person who wants to be vaccinated has to take a second dose every few weeks after the first dose.

It is currently unclear when the vaccination centers will be vaccinated

Therefore, it is still unclear at the moment when the vaccination will actually take place for the first time in the premises of the Wolfratshauser vaccination center.

“We are definitely ready,” says Peischer.

But it is also clear that at the moment no one has to contact anyone to make an appointment.

“We will announce when the center will be vaccinated,” says Peischer.

Until then there will be more precise guidelines for the further procedure.

Talks with the Asklepios Clinic in Tölz are still ongoing

And what about the second vaccination center that is planned at the Tölz Asklepios City Clinic?

There is still no definitive result of the talks, says Peischer.

District administrator Josef Niedermaier had recently made it clear again and again that one center in the district would not be enough.

"In the medium term, this can only be achieved with two locations," said the district administrator.

In addition, there are good spatial possibilities at the Asklepios City Clinic for the construction of a second vaccination center.

"We should and want to use that." The discussions on this have so far been "very constructive," it said last week.

It was discussed that the clinic would provide the doctors for the vaccination center, the BRK district association could offer personal support.

The fact that everything is not yet dry at the second location should not be a problem at the moment, as vaccinations are not yet being carried out on site.

“And the mobile teams of the Aicher Group take care of the homes in the entire district,” says Peischer.
