Damascus University honored 40 trainers and volunteer students at the Skills and Career Guidance Center in appreciation of their efforts in training within the center during the year 2020.

The director of the center, Dr. Abd al-Salam Zidan, expressed his appreciation to the trainers and volunteers who were not skeptical of their training experience for the center, and they had the credit for the success of the courses and workshops held by the center in various fields, especially engineering, banking, psychological support, social communication, project management and dealing with children.

The Center's Human Resources Supervisor, Hanan Mustafa, explained that honoring the trainers who are recruited from various companies and institutions in the public and private sectors and volunteer students from the students has become an annual tradition carried out by the center in appreciation of their efforts to complete and succeed the training process, while the trainer Osama Al-Youssef noted the great efforts made by the center for Developing the training mechanism and high quality in performance, indicating the importance of practical training as it supports academic education and forms the basis for the student's entry into the labor market and working life.

Volunteer Basil Madani from the “Syria Pioneers 2030” initiative emphasized the need to shed light on the young entrepreneurs and the sustainable development goals, noting that the initiative tries to combine entrepreneurship and sustainable development to enhance this concept among Syrian youth and make them aware of its goals.

Anan Ammar, one of the trainers of high thinking skills, considered that his work as a trainer at the center constitutes part of giving back to his mother university, Damascus University, during the years of his studies on its seats, noting the importance of the training programs provided by the center to link the university outputs and the labor market in all fields.

It is noteworthy that the Skills and Career Guidance Center at the University of Damascus, which was established in 2008 in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the United Nations Development Program, is the first of its kind in Syrian universities, as it aims to qualify students to join the labor market by helping them choose the fields closest to their academic specialization in addition to Developing the student’s personal skills, as well as creating communication channels between the student and the labor market.
