The air is clean: because the children of the Catholic kindergarten are allowed to move into the containers, work on the new building can begin at the same time.

Fahrenzhausen

- Over the past few weeks, the mayor of Fahrenzhausen, Heinrich Stadlbauer, has been approached by local councils and citizens about the empty containers in the center of town.

His answer was always the same: “It's a complicated story.” Now something is finally moving forward again: The deficiencies due to excessive pollutant levels have been eliminated, and the groups of the Catholic kindergarten can now finally move into the containers so that the existing house is demolished and new can be built.

In autumn, the kindergarten had its home in the containers for almost a week, until it was returned to the makeshift house.

Measurements of formaldehyde in the containers exceeded the limit values and caused an emergency stop.

This meant that the kindergarten could not be demolished as planned.

Originally the goal was formulated that the kindergarten should move back into the container during the autumn break.

Acoustic ceilings were identified as the reason for the increased values

Then it got quiet.

The press office of the Archbishop's Ordinariate Munich and Freising responded to a request from the Freisinger Tagblatt that originally installed acoustic ceilings had been identified as the reason for the increased values.

These have now been replaced.

To be on the safe side, the lower-emission replacement elements were tested in test chambers.

Then there was also the longer downtime of the containers, so that regular ventilation improved the situation.

The builders of the Ordinariats also used the time to install a decentralized ventilation system, with which one can now also meet the special conditions of the Corona period.

Kindergarten can move directly in the first calendar week of 2021

“The measures taken follow the zero-risk strategy for daycare centers in the archdiocese,” says Hendrik Steffens from the press office of the Archbishop's Ordinariate.

As a result, the kindergarten can move in the first calendar week of 2021.

If the daycare centers in Bavaria are allowed to reopen after the lockdown, the care operations in the container facility on B13 will start. This also means that the demolition of the St. Christopherus children's home can be tackled in the next few weeks.

Steffens reports that if everything goes well, construction of the new children's home in the Fahrenzhausen center could begin in April.

No changes to the plan are financially necessary.

The costs for ventilation devices and the move back to the old building are covered by security reserves.

The political community of Fahrenzhausen is assuming a total of two thirds of the costs for the construction of the St. Christopherus children's home.
