At 5 o'clock in the afternoon today (22nd), a fire broke out at a shop at No. 27 Fuk Wah Street, Sham Shui Po. A large amount of thick smoke passed through the air. The accident caused 4 injuries.

Three renovation workers in their 40s had burns. Two of them received initial treatment in Princess Margaret Hospital and were transferred to Queen Mary Hospital; the other was treated in Queen Elizabeth Hospital and then transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital , Unconscious during transfer.

The remaining 60-year-old man was unwell after inhaling heavy smoke and was taken to Caritas Medical Centre by ambulance.

At the scene, a woman and a baby in her arms were also treated by ambulancemen.

The firefighting team sent a breathing apparatus team to the scene and sent out a hose to fight the fire. The fire was put out at 5:28 pm. About 80 people were evacuated by themselves.

The neighbourhood on the scene said that a restaurant will be opened on the fire ground shop and is undergoing renovation.

Firefighters investigated the fire site and initially believed that the decoration workers were welding at the time of the incident, and it was suspected that a spark was generated to ignite the sound insulation cotton.

The online video shows that the fire was blazing on the floor at the time of the incident. The tongues of fire continued to spit out through the door, and the smoke went straight into the sky. The firefighters hurriedly dragged the hose from the fire truck. Onlookers nearby and shooting with a camera.

A wounded person was sitting on a bench at the scene, and an ambulance was bandaging him.

The neighbours at the scene said that the fire ground shop is undergoing renovation and a restaurant is expected to open.

At the scene, burnt range hoods and washing machines were left outside the shop.

A female resident who lives on the second floor of the burning tenement said that she was sleeping in the living room when the incident occurred. She suddenly smelled a burning smell, heard the sound of "cracking", and saw a lot of smoke outside the window. .

She was shocked to learn of the fire, and immediately picked up her love cat Doudou to escape. When she reached the stairs, she also found dense smoke and could not see the road, so she hurriedly escaped.

A fire broke out at a shop at No. 27 Fuk Wah Street, Sham Shui Po, and the fire department and police arrived at the scene.
