The 23rd Knesset of Israel was automatically dissolved tonight (Tuesday) - less than ten months since it was sworn in, after the state budget was not approved until the deadline set by law, and after the failure of attempts to postpone this date. The bill to postpone the date of the dissolution of the Knesset was rejected on first reading, after no agreements were reached between the Likud and Blue and White, and the Likud's attempts to recruit a majority failed.
A majority of 49 MKs voted against the proposal, and 47 supported it.
